OPPIE to be discontinued

The OPPIE citation database will be discontinued effective December 31, 2009. The LANL Research Library, which developed and hosts OPPIE, recently made a decision to stop licensing OPPIE to external entities.

As alternatives to OPPIE, the SNL Technical Library has subscriptions to other citation databases that provide access to the same data included in OPPIE, including Web of Knowledge and EI Compendex . The Web of Knowledge platform searches across Web of Science, ISI Proceedings, Inspec, and MEDLINE. EI Compendex is a standalone database on the Engineering Village platform that covers over 120 years of core engineering literature.

Need to brush up on Web of Knowledge or EI Compendex?

Training on the Web of Knowledge is available at this website: http://science.thomsonreuters.com/training/wok/. You can register for a live online training session, view a recorded training session, or browse training materials. Remember to add the website to your trusted sites list.

Training on EI Compendex is available at this website: http://www.ei.org/Support_Training. You can download presentation slides and product tours or sign up for a live online training session.

Look for upcoming training sessions specifically for Sandia to be announced later this year.

Do you have search alerts set up in OPPIE?
